In plain language
- This website is an information website. It has no patient portal and no place to submit medical information.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
- If you text us, we use your number only to communicate with you about your care. Reply STOP to end texts.
- Your medical record is protected separately under HIPAA — see our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- This site uses Google advertising and analytics tools that collect technical data about your visit. Details below.
Who we are
Coral Community Mental Health Center ("Coral CMHC", "we", "us") is a licensed community mental health center located at 2141 SW 1st St #103, Miami, FL 33135. This policy explains how we handle information collected through our website, coralcmhc.net, and through our appointment text message program.
This policy is not our Notice of Privacy Practices
Coral CMHC is a HIPAA covered entity. Your protected health information (PHI) — your record of care, diagnoses, treatment notes, and billing — is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP), not by this website policy. The NPP is provided to every client at intake and describes your rights under HIPAA, including your right to access, amend, and request restrictions on your record.
You can request a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices at any time at our office or by calling (305) 644-6024. If anything in this website policy appears to conflict with the Notice of Privacy Practices, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
Please do not send us medical information through this website
This website does not offer a secure channel for health information. It has no patient portal, no medical intake form, and no encrypted messaging. Please do not email or text us details about your symptoms, diagnosis, or treatment. To discuss anything clinical, call us at (305) 644-6024 or bring it to your appointment.
Information we collect
When you simply browse this site
We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no form on this website that submits your personal information to us. Our website host and the analytics tools described below automatically receive technical information, which may include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the site or search that referred you.
When you call or text us
If you call or text the numbers listed on this site, we receive your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us. If you become a client, that information is handled as part of your medical record under HIPAA and the Notice of Privacy Practices.
Our text message program
If you opt in to appointment text messages, we use your mobile number to send appointment reminders and scheduling messages only. We never send marketing texts. Mobile information is never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the licensed telecommunications providers that are strictly necessary to deliver the messages to your phone.
Standard text messaging is not encrypted and is not a secure channel. Full details, including how to opt in and out, are in our Text Message Terms & Conditions.
The opt-in form on our Text Message Terms page runs entirely in your own browser and does not transmit anything to us; it simply opens your phone's messaging app so you can send us the opt-in text yourself.
Advertising and analytics on this website
We want to be straightforward about this. This website uses Google Ads conversion tracking and Google Analytics to understand how people find us and whether our advertising is working. These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and send technical information about your visit — including your IP address and the pages you viewed — to Google.
Because we are a mental health provider, the pages you visit on this site can suggest something about your health interests. We take that seriously, and we limit these tools accordingly:
- We do not send Google your name, phone number, email address, or any information from your medical record.
- We do not use these tools to build health-condition profiles of individual visitors, and we do not target advertising based on any individual's health status.
- We record only that an anonymous visitor tapped a "call" or "text" button — not who you are or what you said.
If you would rather not be measured at all, you can block cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking these tools does not affect your care in any way, and no part of this website requires them to work.
This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and embeds a map link to Google Maps, which necessarily reveals your IP address to Google when those resources load.
How we use information
- To respond to you when you contact us
- To schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments
- To verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
- To operate, secure, and improve this website
- To measure whether our advertising reaches people who need care
- To meet our legal, licensing, and recordkeeping obligations
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your information.
- We never share your mobile number with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
- We never send marketing text messages.
- We never use purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists.
Who we share information with
Outside of your medical record (which follows the Notice of Privacy Practices), we share website and messaging information only with service providers who help us operate — our website host, our telephone and messaging provider, and the analytics and advertising tools described above — and only to the extent they need it to provide that service. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or to prevent a serious and imminent threat to health or safety.
Data retention
Text message opt-in and opt-out records are kept for as long as you remain opted in, and afterward for the period required to demonstrate that we honored your consent choices. Clinical records are retained for the period required by Florida law and our professional obligations, as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices. Website analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the tools described above.
Your choices and rights
- Text messages: reply STOP at any time, or ask any staff member to remove you.
- Phone contact: tell us your preferred contact method and we will use it.
- Your medical record: HIPAA gives you the right to inspect, copy, and request amendment of your record, and to request restrictions on how it is used. See the Notice of Privacy Practices or call us.
- Cookies and tracking: use your browser controls or the opt-out link above.
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may contact us at the number below, and you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights. We will never retaliate against you for filing a complaint.
Children
We serve children and adolescents, and in those cases we communicate with a parent or legal guardian. This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information online from children. Consent for text messages about a minor's care is given by the parent or legal guardian.
Security
We use administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect the information in our care, and this website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and — as noted above — ordinary text messaging and email are not encrypted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always posted at coralcmhc.net/privacy with the "last updated" date shown above.
