How to sign up (opt in)
Joining is always your choice. Text messaging is never required to receive care at Coral CMHC, and choosing not to receive texts will never affect your treatment, your appointments, or your benefits.
There are three ways you can opt in:
- Text us first. Send START, JOIN, or YES from your mobile phone to (305) 644-6024.
- In writing at intake. Check the text-message consent box on our signed Client Intake and Consent-to-Contact form and provide your mobile number.
- By phone. Tell a member of our staff during a call that you agree to receive text messages. We record that consent in your chart.
Sign up from this page
Enter your mobile number and confirm below. Your own phone will open a text message to us that says START — you send it, and that is your opt-in.
Your privacy: this page does not send, store, or transmit anything to Coral CMHC or to any third party. Nothing you type here leaves your device. The only thing that reaches us is the text message your phone sends.
No mobile phone handy? Call (305) 644-6024 and we can record your consent by phone instead.
What messages you will receive
We use text messaging only for one-to-one service communication with existing clients and their legal guardians. That includes:
- Appointment reminders and confirmations
- Scheduling and rescheduling coordination
- Cancellation and late-arrival notices
- Intake paperwork follow-up
- Insurance authorization status updates
- Replies to questions you text us first
We never send marketing or promotional text messages, and we never send third-party content. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your appointments. Most clients receive approximately 1 to 5 messages per month.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Coral CMHC does not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving them depending on your plan. Contact your carrier for details.
How to get help (HELP)
Reply HELP to any of our messages and you will receive instructions and our support contact information. You can also reach a real person at Coral CMHC:
- Phone: (305) 644-6024
- In person: 2141 SW 1st St #103, Miami, FL 33135
- Online: coralcmhc.net/contact
How to stop messages (STOP)
You can cancel at any time. Reply STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message from us. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send you any further text messages unless you opt in again.
You may also ask any staff member to remove you from text messaging, by phone or in person.
Supported carriers and delivery
Text messaging is available on most major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed, and messages may be delayed by factors outside our control. Do not rely on text messages for urgent or time-sensitive needs.
Text messages are not for emergencies or clinical advice
Our text line is not monitored 24 hours a day and is not a crisis service. Do not use text messaging to report a medical or psychiatric emergency, suicidal thoughts, or any urgent safety concern.
- Life-threatening emergency: call 911.
- Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988, 24/7.
Text messages are also not a substitute for a clinical appointment. We do not diagnose or provide treatment advice by text.
Privacy and your health information
Standard text messaging is not a secure or encrypted channel. Messages can be seen by anyone with access to your phone, and they may be stored by your mobile carrier. Because of that, we keep the content of our messages to the minimum necessary — generally your appointment date and time — and we ask that you do not send us detailed medical information by text.
By opting in, you accept the privacy risks of unencrypted text messaging for these limited service messages. If you would prefer we not text you, call us and we will contact you by phone instead.
How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy. Our full Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA is provided to every client at intake and is available on request at our office or by calling (305) 644-6024.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at coralcmhc.net/sms-terms with the "last updated" date above.
